Kaffee und Kuchen

3:10 am5:00 am
Arts Hall, Old Arts Building

We brought a classic German tradition to campus with an easy afternoon of coffee, cake, and conversation, generously supported by the German faculty. There was no formal agenda: just good coffee, great cake, pizza, drinks, and even a few guests from SBS German dropping by. Whether people were regulars or completely new to the club, it was a warm chance to meet others and enjoy a relaxed afternoon on campus.

Stammtisch - Will Richter Fundraiser Evening

8:00 am
German Club Tivoli, Prahran

The University of Melbourne German Club and GASS hosted the Will Richter Fundraiser Evening in support of the William Richter SAGSE Scholarship. Will was a much-loved part of this community: a University of Melbourne Commerce student, Vice-President of the German Club, and a member of the 2023/24 SAGSE cohort. The scholarship and exchange experience meant a great deal to him, and the scholarship in his name now helps future students access the same kind of life-changing opportunity. More than 150 people attended, bringing together students, alumni, families, and the wider Australian-German community for food, drinks, raffle prizes, auctions, and direct support for the scholarship. The evening raised enough to fund multiple SAGSE scholarships, with all funds going toward the William Richter SAGSE Scholarship.
